PLEDGE DRIVE PROGRESS
We are making progress towards reaching 100% participation, meaning every family gives some amount, however large or small, towards the purchase of a school bus for our field study experiences. Any amount between $1 or $1,000,000 will qualify to meet this goal. We will combine last year’s pledge drive money with this year’s to make it happen. Kudos to all the families who have already participated! Let’s do this!!! As you contribute have your children stop by the office to draw a mini self-portrait. Each portrait is then displayed on the School Bus Poster representing their grade. Our Pledge Drive Celebration Friday was a success. We have such a wonderful community and currently we are at 25% IA family participation. We are extending our pledge drive in order to give everyone an opportunity to participate and demonstrate unity for our cause. All donations received by midnight, Sunday, October 16, will get two entries for the Flip Force Birthday Party drawing. All donations received from October 17-21 will receive one entry. The Flip Force Birthday Party winner will be announced in the Sunday call on October 23rd. Thank you for your support. Together we can do this.
LUNA GRILL FUNDRAISER
This Monday, October 17th, between 11am and 9pm the Scripps Ranch Luna Grill will be donating 20% of all qualified purchases to Innovations Academy. Dine in or take out but be sure to have your flyer(image to the left), either on your mobile device or printed out. Hope to see you there!
PLEASE RESPECT HANDICAPPED PARKING LOT SIGNS
The handicapped parking spots in our lot are ONLY for handicapped people. The blue handicapped parking stalls are reserved for parents who hold the appropriate license plate or placard. Please help support our parents who need this.
THURSDAY FOOD TRUCK NIGHTS ARE TRANSFORMED
You spoke and we listened! Beginning Thursday November 3rd, we are partnering with new vendors to provide more family friendly menus and pricing. Additionally, we will enhance the community experience by offering Family Enrichment Nights on 1st and 3rd Thursdays, beginning at 6 pm.
1st Thursdays will feature a speaker on subjects including healthy family choices, healthy meal planning & preparation, home organizing, positive discipline & redirecting children’s behavior talks & tips.
3rd Thursdays will feature a community movie experience. We intend to show movies that will support our Spanish language program and also that touch on personal growth, development & expanding world views.

STUDENT LED CONFERENCE FOLLOW UP
If you did not yet participate in your child’s student led conference, please schedule one immediately with your child’s teacher. It is a requirement for our teachers that they hold a conference with 100% of their families and they need your support to do so.

DIRECTOR TIME
As you may know from previous announcements, Thursdays are my usual day to stay late for parent communication but this week I am attending a conference for my son on Thursday. If you would like to meet with me, feel free to come by on Tuesday instead. And never hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, needs or feedback. We can only know your experience if you share it with us.
FUTURE FACILITIES
As many of you know, we are currently slated to move over the summer of 2018 and have been awarded $20 million in bond money to purchase and build out a new forever school for ourselves. Our team has been on the hunt for our site but have not yet been successful. We must locate within the boundaries of SDUSD. We need a minimum of 4 acres. Our preferred areas are Mira Mesa, South Scripps Ranch and Kearny Mesa but if we don’t locate something soon we will need to expand our search south. Please let me know if you know of any sites that meet our specifications. Thank you.
