Accountability

Our highest accountability is to our students and their families. That is the idea behind school choice. We set out to create a learning environment that is both challenging and enjoyable. The best learning that we have seen has both components. We ask that our parents engage in a paradigm of team education as our belief is that parents and families have the biggest impact in each child’s life. Children

Our primary clients are our students, children who deserve to learn the skills needed to become a successful human in our world. We believe, based on what we know about child development, that the best learning for humans is an interactive hands-on learning environment supported by highly engaged adults who care about their well-being. This type of environment is both challenging and enjoyable. We ask that our parents engage in a paradigm of team education as our belief is that parents and families have the biggest impact in their child(ren)’s life.

Charter

We are also accountable to our Charter. It holds our mission, values, goal, plans and expectations. Our first charter was granted in 2008 by the board of San Diego Unified School District, the district whose boundaries within we operate. It was renewed in 2013, 2018 and 2025.

Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP and LCP)

The LCAP is a three-year plan that describes the goals, actions, services, and expenditures to support positive student outcomes that address state and local priorities.

This document governs the operations of the school and gives a thorough overview of the mission, vision, curriculum, and overall structure of Innovations Academy. Renewed in 2025, we will once again renew our vision in 2032.

School Accountability Report Card (SARC)

Public schools throughout California are required to provide information about themselves to the community in the form of an annual School Accountability Report Card (SARC). These report cards provide a variety of data to allow the public to evaluate and compare schools in seven major areas:

  •     demographic information
  •     school safety and climate for learning
  •     academic data
  •     class size
  •     teacher and staff information
  •     curriculum and instruction
  •     fiscal and expenditure data

Following state guidelines, the report cards, issued each spring, focus on the previous academic year.
