Good Evening IA Families, This is Christine with the news for the week,

NO SCHOOL TOMORROW
In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday, there will be no school tomorrow. Classes resume on Tuesday.

Future Facility
As you may know, the district has plans to build apartments on the land we currently occupy. The current goal is for us to be relocated by the summer of 2018. We have been actively looking for a new site with the parameters of being within the SD Unified District borders as close to our current location as possible and meeting our price specifications. I have not communicated about every site because they would come, we would get excited and they would go. However, we are now closing in on two possibilities that look promising. One is in Sorrento Mesa and the other is in Kearny Mesa near I15 and Clairemont Mesa Blvd. I am not allowed to disclose addresses but I wanted you to know we are making progress and there is not doubt in my mind that we will have a great facility in time. If you have feedback, feel free to let me know.

Getting a hold of Christine
Speaking of feedback, I know that getting a hold of me is not easy. I receive hundreds of emails a day and sometimes I must choose to support teachers and students or to do emails. Lately I have been choosing students and teachers over emails. This may leave some of you out of contact. Please know that I am on campus everyday starting at 7:30 a.m. Please stop by in the morning. I am also available often during the school day. If you need an appointment in the evening, leave a note with Tammy at the front desk. I apologize for any inconvenience. If you have emailed me and I have not responded, please leave a voicemail message on the school phone. Thank you for understanding.

Auditions for Alice in Wonderland
Audtions will be on Wednesday the 18th at 3.30pm and Monday the 23rd at 1pm. They will be starting with the youngest grades and moving up. Rehearsals will be on Monday’s and Wednesday’s at those same times and the show performs the early part of May. Portions of the script are available to look at before the audition by emailing me at natasha@innovationsacademy.org

Carpool Needed
Our amazing community has come through in the past, so here is a new carpool challenge. Can we meet it? This carpool is needed for a first grader after school only.  Drop off in La Mesa/San Diego area in the 92115 zip code. In between College Ave and 54th St. / Across from the Food for Less Contact: Samantha Lewis at 619-838-1829 They can potentially help with morning drop-off of your  child.
