IA Support
This Tuesday will be the vote on the 5 year renewal of our charter. It is a great time to express solidarity. If you can come to the meeting, we would love to have you. We are third on the agenda, the meeting starts at 5:00 p.m. The district staff is recommending for approval so we are hopeful. It will be held at 4100 Normal Street in University Heights. See you there.

School Photos
School make up and retake photos will be on Thursday, March 15. If you want your child’s photo to be retaken, please email: donna@innovationsacademy.org

Next Exhibition
We are three weeks out from our next EXHIBITION. Exhibition of project work is an assessment of the academic work that we do and we appreciate 100% of parents coming to view work being done at IA. We look forward to seeing you on March 22nd between the hours of 5:00-7:30 p.m. Invite friends, neighbors and family to learn about our great school.

Fundraisers:

Where: Innovations Academy MPR

Price: $20 for first child-$10 each additional child

Notes: 8th Grade will host this event, and children 6 months and older are welcome. Your child will be provided with pizza, snacks, drinks, and fun activities.     • Kona Ice on Tuesdays for $3, $4 or $5 depending on size (supports the 6th grade Catalina trip)

After School Classes
Chess: Chess Minds in Motion: Classes will be starting again on Mondays after school from 12:45-1:30. The dates are  March 5,12,19th and April 9,16, 23, 30 and May 7, 14, 21. There will be no class during Spring Break, March 26th. $100 for 10 classes. Siblings get a 50% discount. Contact chessmindsinmotion@ gmail.com for more information.

Botball: The San Diego Regional Botball Training took place at Innovations Academy last weekend. We received teams from Mexico City, Arizona and Palm Desert as well as local teams. Read about it on this blog: http://mathsciencechampionship.org/math-science-blog/

We are partnering with a local organization that could use more sponsorship. If you know of any companies wishing to sponsor an organization that provides high quality robotics in K-12 schools, refer them to jeff@mathsciencechallenge.org

Food Drive Thank You
Thanks to IA for the generous participation in the Home Learners Community (HLC) Co-op’s Food Drive for Feeding San Diego.  Thanks to you, we were able to donate 33 pounds of beans/rice, 31 packages of pasta, 230 cans of soup/vegetables/meats/fruits, 11 jars of peanut butter, and 88 other food items. We are very grateful for your help in supporting this worthy cause!!
