Our First Portfolio Review week.
Why? Portfolio work is an effective way to understand where a child is in the learning process. Reviewing this work will enable everyone to know the next step on the journey for that individual child.
Please connect with the teacher for a time to go to the class with your child to review together their work. Minimum days with dismissal at 12:30 will happen all week to support this important process.
URGENT…INTENT TO RE-ENROLL FOR NEXT YEAR
An 1718 Intent to reenroll will be sent home with your eldest child tomorrow, Monday, February 6. With the exception of the 8th graders, all families need to complete this and return it to the office by Friday, February 10th. For your convenience, hard copies are available in the office and the form is attached. You may email the completed form to donna@innovationsacademy.org.
The information provided is used to develop class configurations, designate teachers to grade levels, and determine the number of available spaces for lottery applicants. It is of utmost importance to us that you be honest and share your intentions for next year. If there is any possibility of moving, military or job transfers etc, please communicate the maybe’s as well.
If you have an incoming kindergarten sibling, you need to submit an online application for that child at https://innovationsacademy.org/admissions/application-form/. The sibling is not subject to the lottery, but we need to have the completed application to hold the spot.
PARENT CONNECTION BIG EVENT
Our dedicated Parent Association is hosting an exciting event in celebration of our mindfulness program. Proceeds will go to further training of our teachers in self-regulation techniques of mindfulness. It will be more than a film screening with concessions and possible Food Trucks.
What: Film Screening of Milton’s Secret with a special visit from the Oscar Winning Producer, Barnet Bain
Where: Our MPR
When: February 27, 2017 at 6 pm
Cost: $5-$10 with a FREE option for those who need it.
