FAMILY FUN NIGHT
The Parent Connection is in full swing and has organized their first event this year: Family Fun Night!
Come join the IA community for the 2nd annual Family Fun Night THIS Thursday, September 15 from 5:30 – 7:30pm. Enjoy music, magic, raffles and fun! Bring a picnic for your family or grab something from the food trucks. And be sure to mark your calendars now for Stargazing – Friday, September 23 and the first annual Fall Festival – Saturday, October 22.
CARPOOL NEEDED
Last week’s carpool request was met and I would like to acknowledge the IA families who responded and gave of themselves for another. I have been looking for a good carpool app for our community and have not found one. If you know of one please email christine@innovationsacademy.org In the meantime, carpool assistance is needed for another IA family. A La Mesa family new to the school is looking for someone to help with their 3rd grader and 1st grader after school on Wednesdays and Fridays. They can be at the school by 3:45-3:55 PM to pick them up, so they are looking for either someone to wait with them at the school or carpool assistance to East County. - Robotics for students ages 9-14 takes place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5 pm. Contact Jeff@innovationsacademy.org. $250 for the fall session which includes tournament fees.

HANDS ON CLUB
The Parent Connection is kicking off our Hands-On Club – a good deeds club for kids, parents, and faculty! Come and shape the direction of the club – we’ll decide together what family-friendly good deeds to pursue. Our first meeting is Monday, September 12, from 12:45 – 1:45 pm in the lunch area.

SCHOOL PLAY: Why the Grinch Stole Christmas
Auditions for the school play will be held this week: Monday September 12th at 1.30pm and Wednesday September 14 at 3.30pm. Open to all, forms will be at the auditions and can be found in the front office. The most important factor needed is that your child be able to maintain upstanding behavior and sit quietly and listen for 15 minute periods of time. IF this is not possible, they will not be given a part.
PARENT FITNESS
A parent fitness class will begin on Tuesday September 20th, NOT September 13th as originally advertised. The cost is $20 for 5 classes. For further information please contact natasha@innovationsacademy.org
