Weekly News 10/25-10/31

Good Evening, Innovations Families,

Acknowledgement
Thank you to all those who supported children, helped organize the Friday Celebration of Life, donated anything, participated in the GoFundMe campaign, helped out in Alex’s class and attended the Celebration on Friday. It was a demonstration of the strength of our community. You are amazing people.

Book Fair and Student Led Conferences

Don’t miss your last chance to visit the book fair, Monday from 12:30 – 1:30 and Tuesday from 2:30 – 4:30 in the MPR. We’ll have books on display, catalogues to review and order forms to place your orders.

Don’t have a lot of time? Come prepared. Check out Usbornebooksandmore.com

Write down the titles, bring them in and we can process your order even faster.  We’re accepting cash, check, debit or credit. See you there!

If you have not had a student led conference, please reschedule with the teacher for this week if you have not yet done so. It is important to us to have 100% participation.

Pledge Drive
Our Pledge Drive continues. As of last week we had raised $8000 with 69 families participating. With 360 students in about 250 families, I know that we could have a higher participation rate. We are shooting for 100% participation which means that we have 181 families who could still give $1 and help us reach that goal. This is less about getting money from our parents and more about showing that we support own fund drives. It also demonstrates that our community cares and helps us become eligible for more grants.

Monday Pizza Sales
Tomorrow is the last day of Monday Pizza Sales, a fundraiser for the upcoming 5th grade trip. If your child is hungry at our 12:30 dismissal, send them with money and they can get one slice for $2, juice box for $.50, or a combo (2 slices and juice box) $4

Free Art After School
This is a reminder that Niki is now offering extra art time for students who would like to work on their class projects, do independent work, get feedback on work done outside of class, or experiment in their Art Journals. She will open during upper lunch on Thursdays and after school from 3:30-4:30 on Wednesdays. If you have questions, please email Niki@innovationsacademy.org

Robotics Club
Our Lego robotics team, opened to students 9 and up, is currently meeting after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is in addition to the robotics students will get during the school year. Email Jeff@innovationsacademy.org if you have any questions about participation.

Piano After School Thursdays
