Family Dance
The countdown has begun for our Annual Spring Family Dance. Please join us this Friday, March 6th at 6:30 for food, fun and laughter.
- Ticket sales are happening now on our website under the payments page and in our front office. $10 each or a maximum $40 per family. Tickets will be $12 at the door.
- If you have any empty baskets that you would like to donate for our raffle gift baskets, please bring them to Beth in the front office.
- We need set up volunteers Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. If you can, please let Beth know you are coming (beth@innovationsacademy.org) but we won’t turn away any last minute volunteers either.
Legislation to Follow: Inform Yourself
Living in a democracy is a responsibility and part of that responsibility is being politically aware. Sharing with your child not just your decisions but how you came to make those decisions is part of being your child’s primary educator. Please take time to look at the following legislation recently introduced in California
1.SB322 (Leno) related to charter school expulsions and suspensions (SB 322 would make charter schools subject to discipline provisions in the Education code, removing a fundamental flexibility offered to charter schools. In addition it reduces the time from 30 days to 10 days in which a charter school has to notify the district that a student has left the school and requires charter schools to collect data regarding teacher turnover)
2. AB709 (Gipson) related to charter school boards and conflict of interest ) is similar to conflict of interest legislation that CCSA strongly opposed last year subjecting charter school boards to the Brown Act, Bagley-Keene Open Meeting Act, the Public Records Act and the Political Reform Act of 1974.
3.SB277 which would require that all children are vaccinated in order to attend day care or any school in the state of California.(SB277VaccinationFlier)
YEARBOOKS: Online ordering for yearbooks is now open. Yearbooks are $20 including tax and families can personalize two pages for free. Deadline for online ordering is: April 18.
