ST MATH
IA Students in grades 1st-8th have access to the online program, ST MATH. ST stands for Spatial-Temporal and is a quality program that addresses math conceptually, linking the whys of math to the hows through visual puzzles. All students know their passwords and can access the program via www.stmath.com  We are asking you to have your child work for a minimum of 45-50 minutes per week on this program. That could be 2 sessions of about 25 minutes, or 3 sessions of 15 minutes, whatever works with your schedule. Much like reading at home, this work will provide parents with a link to school, academic conversation and improvement. If this is a problem, please contact your teacher who will support you in finding a way to make this work. Students who do not complete this time during the week will receive support on Fridays from 12:30-1:30 to complete their time.

S.T.E.M. Magazine Available FREE
A link to the latest issue of S.T.E.M. Magazine has been added to our website. This magazine explores Science, Technology, Engineering and math connections to learning. See the “Learning at Home” section under the “parents” tab.

PAJAMA DONATIONS
At IA, we believe in the importance of service learning, which is learning in the service of others. Our Kindergarten class recently collected food for the Food Bank and delivered it on a field trip. And now our Second grade class is participating in a pajama fund drive for children in need. See details at  http://www.scholastic.com/pajamadrive/  Scholastic will match each pajama set donated with a book for that child as well. Please bring your donation of new pajamas to the front office before December 12th.

All Friday after school sales on campus benefit our classes. Thank you for your support.

We hope you have a fantastic week.
