2024-25 School Year Lottery Procedure
The 2024-2025 public lottery for the three and five day programs will be held on March 3, 2024. All acceptance and waitlist notices will be emailed within a week. For questions, email info@innovationsacademy.org.
Applications received after the lottery will be added to a waitlist in the order received. As space becomes available, applicants from the waitlist are notified via email.
The Open Application Period for the 2024-25 school year is from November 17, 2023, through March 3, 2024. Prior year applications do not roll over to the next school year. Incoming siblings of returning students will be given priority as long as a 2024-25 online application is submitted for those siblings.
Education Code 47605(d)(4) pertaining to enrollment, lottery, and disenrollment:
- 47605(d)(4) prohibits a charter school from discouraging enrollment or encouraging disenrollment of any pupil for any reason, and specifically for reasons based on academic performance, the pupil’s nationality, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation, or because the pupil is disabled, academically low-achieving, an English learner, neglected or delinquent, homeless, economically disadvantaged, or foster youth.
- 47605(d)(4)(B) prohibits a charter school from requesting a pupil’s records or requiring a parent to submit the pupil’s records prior to enrollment in the charter school
- 47605(d)(4)(E)(i)-(ii) – allows any person who suspects that a charter school has violated paragraph (4) to file a complaint with the chartering authority. The CDE notice and complaint form can be found here.
