To apply for the 2024-25 current school year for our 2-day, 3-day or 5-day program

To get more information about our school prior to the lottery for 25-26 school year

 STEP 1-  When deciding on a school for your child, it is a must to gather accurate and detailed information to support choosing the right school for your child.  To attend our PARENT INFORMATION SESSION/TOUR prior to the lottery, see below for dates. 

STEP 2– Understand the following: we have three different options for attendance. Our 2 day HLC program is VERY DIFFERENT from our 3-day and 5-day programs.

  • We do NOT have any full time independent study programs and we do NOT provide an online learning program.
  • Our 2-day HomeLearningCommunity program requires attendance 2 days per week. It is a learning community, not a come-as-you-like program
  • To attend the 2-day HLC program, please attend the HLC information session.  To attend the 3-day or 5-day program, please attend the 3-day and 5-day information session.

STEP 3– First choose to participate in the HLC 2 day program OR choose the 3-day/5-day program. You will be attending an information session based on that decision.

3-day/5-day Info Sessions

Prior to Lottery: 3-day and 5-day Information Presentation and School Tour
1) November 14, 2024  at 4 pm and again at 5:00 pm
2) December 5, 2024    at 4 pm and again at 5:00 pm
3) January 23, 2025      at 4 pm and again at 5:00 pm

2-day Info Sessions

Prior to Lottery: 2-day HLC Information Presentation and School Tour

 2-day HLC Info sessions are via Zoom. In order to get the link you must email us @ hlc@innovationsacademy.org for the Zoom link.

 To complete the application, first register for an account 

STEP 4–  Complete the application for the 24-25 (current school year only) HERE.
Access to the 25-26 School year will be available in November…keep checking back.

  • next, log into that account
  • select the 2024-25 application or the 2025-26 application (please carefully select the correct year)
  • complete the application
  • If you are applying for the 3 day program, choose 5 DAY PROGRAM option in the application. Then email info@innovationsacademy.org to let your preference be known.

STEP 5- Once you have completed the application, we will be looking for you to attend an information session. You will be entered into the lottery which will be held on March 3rd, 2025 at 1 p.m.

*Lotteries do not rollover if you are on the waitlist for this current school year, You must complete a new application for next year*

POST LOTTERY:

If you are accepted, you will receive an email from “LOTTEREASE” (check your email, spam etc.) Acceptance is not the same as enrollment. 

You will have 5 days to decline or accept and complete the enrollment forms. 

If you decline, you will be removed from our system. If you accept and complete the forms, you will be complete. Just wait for school outreach and information.

If you’re not accepted immediately you will be waitlisted. You will receive updates regularly about your status on the waitlist.

If you change your mind and decide not to attend Innovations Academy, please IMMEDIATELY EMAIL info@innovationsacademy.org. It will allow us to accept other students to our program and be adequately prepared for the first day of school.

Parent Information Sessions

Due to the nature of school choice and the fact that Innovations Academy is a unique school that follows a specially designed instructional model not typically found in public schools,  it is crucial to attend a New Parent Info Session.

Please sign in on your arrival at the presentation. Children are welcome to attend, please bring materials to keep them occupied.

Frequently asked questions during the application period:

Q: What is the process for applying for the 2025-26 school year?
A: Always start by completing an online application. The lottery for the 2025-26 school year will be conducted in March 2025 and accepted students will be notified shortly after the lottery. Applications received after the lottery takes place are added to the waitlist in the order that the application is received. If there is space available, Tami will email you with enrollment details.

Q: Are siblings given priority?
A: Siblings of currently enrolled students are given priority. That said, an application for siblings is still required.

Q: I have a Kindergartner, how old must s/he be to enroll?
A: Kindergarten applicants must be 5 years of age on or before September 1st, 2025 (for the 2025-26 school year).

Q: How do I apply?
A: Complete the online application.

Q: Does Innovations Academy offer Pre-K or Transitional Kindergarten (TK)?
A: Until the 23-24 school year we did accept Pre-K/TK, however recent changes in legislation impede our ability to offer TK/Pre-K at this time.

PLEASE NOTE:
Education Code 47605(d)(4) :

  • 47605(d)(4) prohibits a charter school from discouraging enrollment or encouraging disenrollment of any pupil for any reason, and specifically for reasons based on academic performance, the pupil’s nationality, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation, or because the pupil is disabled, academically low-achieving, an English learner, neglected or delinquent, homeless, economically disadvantaged, or foster youth.
  • 47605(d)(4)(B) prohibits a charter school from requesting a pupil’s records or requiring a parent to submit the pupil’s records prior to enrollment in the charter school
  • 47605(d)(4)(E)(i)-(ii) – allows any person who suspects that a charter school has violated paragraph (4) to file a complaint with the chartering authority. Use these embedded links for the CDE Notice and complaint form.
