IMPORTANT LUNCH INFO
REGARDING THE HOT LUNCH PROGRAM FOR THE REMAINING SCHOOL DAYS:

Hot lunch will be provided June 7,8,9, and 10th ONLY!

Due to minimum days on Monday and Friday during the last week, as well as multiple events, fieldtrips, and parties, we will NOT be providing hot lunch for the LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL.

Please:
1.      Go online and order for June 7-9th

  1. Make a note to pack your child a lunch for the last week
  2. Confirm with teachers whether or not there will be potluck events in place of any lunches.

The California Primary Election
This Tuesday, June 7th is the California Primary Election. It is a great opportunity to teach your children about what it is like to participate in the democracy we are all responsible for maintaining. You may want to consider taking your child to the polls before school, at lunch or after school so that they, too, may learn from the process. Poll hours are 7 a.m.-8 p.m.

IA ROBOTICS at Del Mar Fair
Come support robotics at this year’s SD Fair! On Saturday June 11th, at the Student Showcase area (building in front of the race track), the IA Botball Team will be competing in scrimmage matches against other SD area middle & HS teams. Matches will start at 11am and run until 4:30pm. On Sunday, June 12th, at the Student Showcase area (building in front of the race track), IA Robotocists from Emily’s 5th grade class will be showcasing their robotics prowess while competing in a mini Sumobot Robotics tournament..also from 11am-4:30pm. Although the total number of participants for both events is unknown, the matches are fairly quick and previous competitions have lasted only 1 hour so please come early for either or both events.  For any questions email jeff@innovationsacademy.org or text 619-916-8384.

Parent Connection End of the Year Gathering
All families are invited to attend the Parent Connection Family Picnic on Monday, June 13  after dismissal (12:45) at Spring Canyon Park behind the school. Please bring a picnic lunch for your family and plan to meet the board members to discuss our successes and challenges this year as well as planning for next year.

Third Grade Sale for Economy Project
This week, third graders will be selling things they have made at lunch and at break. If your child is interested in browsing and perhaps purchasing from their wares, please send them to school with a bit of spare cash. Items range in price from .25 – $3

Home Needed for a Dog Friend
Rocco the dog, a cute 2 year old owned currently by an IA family needs a new home.  Please help find him a home where he will get lots of time and attention during the day, weekends and evenings as all dogs need and deserve.

Summer art classes are now forming that will take place in North Park. These classes, put on by Green Art Labs have students inventing, creating & engineering using reusable materials. Classes are held at Expressive Arts at 32nd and Thorn.   • Classes are for ages 5 & up, taking place June 6-27 from 3:30-5:, $100 for four sessions.
  • Creative Kids Summer Camp July 11-15 from 2-5 p.m. for $200.
  • Summer Enrichment Camp including art, gardening and legos at Birney Elementary in North Park for Aug 8-12, and possiblyAug 15-19 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Creative Families, Tuesdays 10-11 a.m. at Replay Toys 2920 North Park way for ages 2-5, June 7, 14, 21, 28  $80 per child/parent pair (finger painting, sand play, clay, dance, music, nature art and more)
