Woohoo! What a dance. Glad you could all attend! Our community spirit was alive and well. Thank you to the Parent Association for putting such an amazing event together!

Over the next three weeks IA 3rd-8th graders will be participating in the field test of what is being called the SMARTER BALANCED assessments(new state testing). For detailed information and access to sample tests, see the parent letter  or go to the DOE website www.cde.ca.gov

Congratulations to Beth, our community and sustainability coordinator who was invited to participate in the U.S. Green Building Council Summit in Washington D.C. this summer based on the work she has done at Innovations Academy. And a thank you to all who support IA in moving toward a zero waste lunch, active recycling and building a learning garden at our school.

There is a FREE Parent Workshop being offered by IA Occupational Therapist Provider,  SPOTKids, on April 16th from 10:00-11:30am. The focus of the workshop is Sensory Motor & Handwriting Development. Parents will learn about the foundational building to successful skills in these areas and will take home ideas and tools to support their children this summer.  Read the flier for details.

We also have a flier available to tell you about a  free summer school offering for 6th through 8th graders at the Arts and Science Charter Academy.

The Dingeman Elementary World’s Fair invites you  and your children to attend this year’s event on Sunday,  April 27 (on their campus from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

A very cool local book swap is happening. For each book you trade in, you get to pick a new book. Details are on the flier attached and a separate call will be coming with details.
