Weekly News 5/27/13 – 5/31/13

Good Evening, Innovations’ Families, I hope you enjoyed the long weekend!

We are ramping up plans for next year and are excited for some amazing changes. We will be implementing a new innovative, collaborative math skills program in the 3rd through 8th grades coming out of HTH. Our projects will involve more expert mentoring and community connection, and clubs will be returning to Fridays. We are joining a new SELPA which will give us more control over our special education services. Due to rapid growth to our waitlist, we are still determining enrollment and evaluating staff placement. I know uncertainty can be difficult but I can assure you that all teachers placed in classes will be highly qualified credentialed teachers who have received training and support in project based learning and our social emotional programs and who are excited to fulfill on our mission. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Christine.

Innovations is hosting a fundraising E waste drive this Saturday, June 1st from 9 – 2 across from the school in the Blockbuster parking lot. All electronic waste is accepted including cords, cell phones, old Ipods, printers, scanners, vacuums, computers, monitors and TVs. Please note: that we will need your name and address if you are dropping off CRTs or LCDs for State of California recycling purposes. If dropping CRT’s or LCD’s please email beth@innovationsacademy.org . There will be a pallet in the bike rack area off our school lunch court starting Tuesday. You may drop off items in that area or at the drive Saturday. Support our school and help the environment by safely donating your unwanted electronics.
