19I am excited to say that this will be my 7th year at Innovations Academy. I have been a teacher for over 26 years from preschool to elementary school. I am an education specialist and have a Masters degree in Special Education. I am trained in Lindamood-Bell and in Orton Gillingham. Reading is one of my passions and I am constantly learning about ways to support my students and my focus is dyslexia research. I grew up in Northern California in Sacramento and the S.F. Bay area. I have two amazing daughters and I have been an active participant in their schooling. I am active in this community as a PTA and PTSA board member. When I am not working, I am at the softball field almost year round cheering and watching my youngest daughter play. One of the places that I love the most is the ocean. Growing up, I went to Santa Cruz and learned to surf and appreciate the power of the ocean. There is nothing more serene than the ocean. I am excited to have the experience each day to inspire young children to have a love of learning.
