WELCOME BACK FROM SPRING BREAK!

Tomorrow is a staff development day and there will be NO CLASSES. We look forward to seeing all of your children on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m.

Gallon Plastic Jugs Needed
Beth’s 6th grade is in need of clean plastic jugs.If you have plastic water or milk gallon jugs, please rinse them when done and drop them off in the front office or in room 604. Thank you for your generosity.

The Food Trucks will return after Spring Break. They come to our parking lot on Thursdays. There will be 4-5 trucks each week. If you are looking for a fun and easy meal, have a tailgate in the parking lot on Food Truck night.

A Volunteer  is needed to update the food trucks Facebook page once a week. If you are able to assist, please email Kiersten@innovationsacademy.org

Positive Discipline Class
The thread that weaves our daily lives together at IA is Positive Discipline. It is about raising our young people to be intrinsically motivated. If you are still using rewards and punishments to control your children’s behavior, you may consider the upcoming PD class to see other ways of interaction or simply to understand better the language your child speaks at school. Donna is teaching a class on Wednesdays: April 20-May 25 from  6:00-8:30pm.

LUNCHES:

The April lunch menu is ready to go on the IA webpage.  Please go online and order lunch for your child now.  Also note, if you know your child will be absent on a day you have ordered lunch, please go online and cancel their order before 9am the day they will be gone, to ensure your order is cancelled and you get a refund.  Otherwise your student’s lunch will be ordered and no refund processed.

ENRICHMENT:

The new spring session for Chess Club begins April 11.  Stop in the office and pick up a registration form  or contact Martin by email martin@chessmindsinmotion.com.  The chess program meets Tuesdays from 3:45-4:30. He also has a summer camp flyer in the office for those of you looking for opportunities over summer break!

STATE TESTING:

Parents please be aware that our window for computer adaptive state assessment testing is approaching.  We will be sending more information to you regarding this, but for now please note our window is from April 11-May 27.  We will be scheduling classes during this window, so please check with your teacher after break for their testing dates to avoid having students gone during their assigned class testing times.
