Yes, we do have school tomorrow on Columbus Day.  Please have your child present as always. Mondays are minimum days NOT days off. We take every school day seriously and expect every full time child to be at school every Monday.

Facilities
Two weeks ago the district approved an extension of our lease until June 2017. After June 2017 the district will begin a project that will build residential units on our current site. At that time, Innovations Academy will move to Mira Mesa. We are currently working to locate real estate that will meet our needs for a permanent forever facility for our wonderful school. Stay tuned for details as they emerge.

Extra Art
Students are loving art with Niki and she is eager to provide more time for them. Niki is now offering extra art time for students who would like to work on their class projects, do independent work or get feedback on work done outside of class, or experiment in their Art Journals. She will open during upper lunch on Thursdays and after school from 3:30–4:30 on Wednesdays. If you have questions, please email Niki@innovationsacademy.org

Pledge Drive
Thanks to our incredibly dedicated community, we are on a roll towards our pledge drive goals.  The Pledge Drive total to date is: $3704.00 As a reminder, donations of any size received by this Friday, 10/16/15, will receive an “opportunity drawing” ticket for $100.00 Yanni’s Bistro gift card or a Flip Force birthday party.

Photo Day
The revised school picture schedule is attached. Please have your child present and ready on their photo day which will be either Thursday or Friday of this week or Monday or Thursday of the week after student lead conferences.

Student Lead Conferences
Speaking of Student Lead Conferences, not this week, but next week we have minimum day schedule for the entire week to complete our Student Lead Conferences. Please see your teacher’s digital portfolio to sign up for a time.
