Hi, I’m Kristy Fitts. This is my second year at IA and my 14th year of teaching. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine from Eastern Washington University, and a Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis in technology from Azusa Pacific University. My credentials are a K-8 Multiple Subject Credential, and a Single Subject Credential in English Language Arts. My teaching experience spans from K-1 to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Writing and Literature, as well as Math and Science.
I have a great love for the language arts and am thrilled to embark on this adventure in 5th grade, exploring reading, writing, and U.S. history with my students. I grew up in Washington state on Whidbey Island as a Navy Brat. I have two grown children, Everett and Samantha, a wonderful husband, Ben, and our fun loving rescue dog, Gemma.
In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, paddle boarding, going to the gym, exploring new places and cooking with my husband. Together, we also own and run a small nutritional supplement business.
I am looking forward to a fantastic year of learning and growth with my 5th graders!
