Steps to Enroll for the 2026-27 School Year
STEP 1 — Attendance Options
Choose the attendance option that interests you.
5-day
Traditional attendance model. Students are expected to attend every day unless they are ill or have a family emergency. If you choose this option, attend the 3-day/5-day Info Session (see below).
3-day
This program is embedded in our regular 5-day program but students only attend T, W, Th. If you choose this option, attend the 3-day/5-day Info Session (see below).
2-day HLC
(Home Learning Community) Requires attendance 2 days per week. It is a learning community, not a come-as-you-like program. Parents are responsible for education at home. If you choose our HLC program, attend a 2-day Info session (see below).
Please note: We do not have full-time independent study programs and we do not provide an online learning program.
STEP 2 — Parent Info Session & Tour

Innovations Academy is a unique school that follows a specifically designed instructional model that’s not typical of traditional public schools. For this reason, it is crucial that parents attend a New Parent Info Session. See the dates below or contact us for more options. Children are welcome to attend, please bring materials to keep them occupied.
Both 3-day and 5-day Info Sessions:
- We currently hold a tour with our director Christine every Wednesday at 9 AM (No tour 2/18 or 4/1)
- An information session will be held for the 26-27 year
2/24/26 @ 5:00 PM and 3/24/26 @ 5:00 PM

STEP 3 — Application
Complete and submit your application for the 26-27 School year.
- Create or login to your account in PowerSchool, our enrollment portal website
- Complete and submit the application

What Happens Next
After the application deadline, a lottery is held to determine which applications can be accepted.
If you are accepted, you will receive an email from PowerSchool (check your email, spam etc). Important to note: Acceptance is not the same as enrollment.
You will then have 3 days from the date the email is sent to decline or accept and complete the enrollment forms.
If you decline, you will be removed from our system.
If you’re not accepted immediately you will be waitlisted.
If you accept but later change your mind and decide not to attend Innovations Academy, please email info@innovationsacademy.org as soon as possible! This will allow us to accept other students to our program and be adequately prepared for the first day of school.
Submission of an online application does not guarantee placement at Innovations Academy. One application per student is required. Attendance at a New Parent Information Session is important prior to your child attending IA.
The 2026-27 public lottery will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 1:00 pm. Applicants are notified of their status via email.
Common Questions
What is the process for applying for the 2026-27 school year?
Always start by completing an online application. The lottery for the 2026-27 school year will be conducted in March 2026 and accepted students will be notified shortly after the lottery. Applications received after the lottery takes place are added to the waitlist in the order that the application is received. If there is space available, Tami will email you with enrollment details.
Are siblings given priority?
Siblings of currently enrolled students are given priority. That said, an application for siblings is still required.
I have a Kindergartner, how old must s/he be to enroll?
Kindergarten applicants must be 5 years of age on or before September 1st, 2026 (for the 2026-27 school year).
How do I apply?

Does Innovations Academy offer Pre-K or Transitional Kindergarten (TK)?
Unfortunately, we currently do not offer Pre-K or TK. Maybe in the future!

Education Code 47605(d)(4)
- 47605(d)(4) and SB75 prohibit a charter school from discouraging enrollment or encouraging disenrollment of any pupil for any reason, and specifically for reasons based on academic performance, the pupil’s nationality, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation, or because the pupil is disabled, academically low-achieving, an English learner, neglected or delinquent, homeless, economically disadvantaged, or foster youth. It also prohibits a charter school from requesting a pupil’s records or requiring a parent to submit the pupil’s records prior to enrollment in the charter school.
