This will be my 3rd year teaching STEM at IA, I feel very fortunate to be at such a dynamic and supportive school. I’m looking forward to another year of science, stem challenges, and learning new things every week.
My background before teaching is varied, having studied Architecture and Design for a couple of years before leaving England to work on mega yachts in the Mediterranean and Caribbean for 3 years. Then surfing took me to Costa Rica where I started a surf school, and met my wife (who is from San Diego) and both my kids were born there. We moved to Nicaragua and ran a surf camp there for several years. We moved to San Diego permanently after time in New Hampshire and New Mexico. I finished my Design and Architecture degree here in San Diego, and worked in the design and build world for a few years before finding how to convert my experience into a teaching credential.
When not teaching or driving my kids around I like to surf, mountain bike, climb and travel.
