LCAP

LCAP stands for Local Control and Accountability Plan. It is the plan that guides our LCFF (Local Control Funding Formula) expenditures. Parents, Staff, Teachers and other stakeholders are invited to join in voicing their experiences, wishes and perspectives about the successes and challenges for Innovations Academy. Feedback will be used to inform our goals and actions for the next year.

Parents can provide input in a variety of ways. You are invited to participate in our LCAP meetings, complete surveys that are shared in our weekly Sunday messages (see ParentSquare) or email, text or set up a meeting with Christine.

Introducing the LCAP

The Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) is a 1-3-year plan (updated annually) meant to build relationships and partnerships between parents and school staff. The LCAP is created through an ongoing process of setting and achieving goals that help all students succeed. It serves three main functions:

  • Comprehensive Strategic Planning
  • Meaningful Stakeholder Engagement
  • Accountability and Compliance

The ultimate goal is the alignment of a schools’ mission with its curriculum and programs. By law, schools must involve parents in creating and reviewing the LCAP.

Below are frequently asked questions (FAQs) to help explain more about the purpose of a school’s LCAP. The more parents know, the better the school does, and the more our students succeed. It’s a win for everyone!
