Weekly News 12/3-12/9

Isn’t San Diego a beautiful place to live? I hope you all enjoyed the weekend and spent time outside in full appreciation of this great weather. And did you see that moon?

CHARTER RENEWAL-URGENT
Every five years a charter must get renewed. And since this is the year, we need your support. My goal is to have a letter from each IA family that states why your family chose IA and benefits to your child of being an IA student. It can be short or long, but this WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE in our ability to pass through charter renewal. Feel free to bring one to Exhibition. I need these letters on or before December 14th in order for them to be included. Additionally, please there will be a survey out this week, which will also provide data that will inform our charter.

LETTER- submit to Bridget who is compiling them for charter renewal we4marchands@gmail.com, bring to Exhibition, or turn in to the teacher.

OUR BUS DRIVER JOB
We need to get the bus going. So far we have obtained our DOT and CHP clearances and been assigned our official numbers. We also have our name on the bus of legal size, color and position. We are waiting for our designated CHP inspection. Once inspected, I believe we will be allowed to use the buses. Now we need a bus driver. I will be posting a position opening. If you are interested or know someone who would be, please have them contact christine@innovationsacademy.org immediately with the subject line “Bus Driver”

SCHOOL to HOME Reflection Journals 2nd-8th grades
The purpose of these journals is to create communication about ongoing learning. Based on some feedback at the 8th grade meeting, our staff will be generating creative ways to improve engagement with these journals. It is a parents job to find out when the journals are sent home each week, read them with your child, find ways to use that information to engage with the learning taking place, sign the journal and return it each week.
