SUPPORT ACADEMICS AT IA

  1. MAKE UP MONDAYS ARE NOT OPTIONAL
Due to our no meaningless homework policy, several years ago we put into place a program we call Make Up Mondays. For students who are behind on their work, Make Up Mondays are NOT OPTIONAL. If you are contacted by your child’s teacher over the weekend, please support learning by arranging your child’s schedule to meet their needs for being caught up in school. You may also communicate with your child’s teacher about bringing work home over the weekend.
  2. SCHOOL TO HOME JOURNAL
All classes 1st-8th utilize a school to home journal as one way to communicate with parents. Students will bring this journal home at least once per week and it is expected to be signed. If this is news to you, please contact your child’s teacher immediately for details.
  3. STOP BY
Another way to participate academically is to stop by the classroom once per week to check out your child’s work. Ask about what is on the walls, projects in progress and seek the answers to any concerns, questions and inquiry you have about the class.

We want you to be involved. Thank you for listening to this call and remember that you can always get this information on the website under the NEWS tab. Have an excellent week and Happy Halloween.
