Food Sharing at Lunch
In an effort to reduce waste, IA has implemented a Food Share Basket. Students can put their unwanted pre-packaged non-potentially hazardous food products (pre-packaged chips or crackers) and fruits (whole bananas or oranges) that do NOT require being washed and students who forgot lunches or are still hungry can share.   Natural foods that are intended to be consumed (whole apples, pears, etc.) and have been handled by students are rewashed before being offered to others for consumption. The basket is monitored by staff and sugary foods are not re-circulated. In connection with this it is a great opportunity to have a discussion with your children about what nutritious foods they prefer in their lunches as children’s taste buds tend to change often!  Please let us know if you do not want your children to participate.

Valentine’s Day Dance
