Portfolio Review Meetings for Parents
Schedule now with your child’s teacher for a portfolio review meeting. These are being held next week Feb 5,6 and 7. There will be early dismissal all three days.

Report Cards
Report Cards went home on Friday. See your child’s teacher or the front office if you missed it.

Basketball Game
The IA middle school basketball team is playing against High Tech Middle tomorrow at 3:30 in Point Loma. They will be dismissed early to get there on time. The IA players have been playing action packed games with other middle schools from around San Diego.  We are proud of their hard work.

Parents Night Out

This Friday, February 2, 2018, the 8th grade class will be hosting a Parent’s Night Out babysitting service from 5-9 pm. Children ages 6 months and older are welcome to attend. There will be face painting, snacks, a movie, pizza and more! It will cost $20.00 for the first child and $10.00 for every additional child. This event is hosted in the MPR. Registration forms are available in the office and the deadline to register is Friday, February 2, at 9:15am. Payment (cash or check) is collected at time of registration.

Dance
On February 14th, 8th graders will host two Valentine’s Day Dances- one for K-5 and the other for middle school.

K-5th dance tickets are $10, and includes dancing, snacks and activities from 3:30-5:00pm, parents are welcome to purchase tickets for the K-5th grade dance only.

6th-8th grade tickets are $15 and students can enjoy food, dancing and activities from 5:30-8:00.  This event is for IA students only.  If there are any DJ’s who are willing to volunteer their time, please contact nora@innovationsacademy.org  Tickets will go on sale Monday after school, and throughout the week leading up to the dance.  You can also purchase tickets in the front office during the day.

If you have children in both K-5 and middle school and are going to go crazy over the logistics, contact Nora@innovationsacademy.org for a solution.

5 Gallon Bucket Donations Needed
8th grade is looking to complete their chicken coop and is in need of 5 gallon buckets with lids.  These will be used as nesting areas for the chickens.  If you have these available, they can be dropped off in room 702 or the front office!

Photo Op
The SD Family Magazine is seeking children ages 2-11 for the cover of their magazine. More info can be found at http://www.sandiegofamily.com/contests/cover-kids-search

Meal Train
Coach Curry’s wife is about to give birth to their fifth child and we have a meal train set up for them. A call will go out with the link once she gives birth. Stay tuned.
