Weekly Info 11/12-11/26

THIS WEEK
The Scholastic Book Fair
is happening this week. Come by after school any day from 3:15-4:15 to browse and buy.

Boy’s Bathroom Issues: We have been having issues with boys stuffing toilet paper and lunch items in the toilet and flooding the bathroom. If you have a boy student, please discuss with them the impact on others and ask them to step forward if they know how this is happening. Mistakes are opportunities to learn. We will also be discussing this at school. Together our team can make a difference.

UPDATES:
The pledge drive has secured enough money to purchase sound and lighting equipment for performing arts. Please come out to see one of the schoolwide performances this year between Thanksgiving and winter breaks and celebrate student learning and our new equipment.

UPCOMING:
Thanksgiving Break will be all  next week. We will see you back on Monday, November 27th. Remember, attendance is very important for the continuity of learning in a classroom and for our financial stability. Please communicate if your child is going to be missing any class time due to family vacations and pick up an independent study contract to complete work for any absence.

Exhibition Night is happening on Thursday, December 14th from 5-7:30 p.m. Your child’s presence is mandatory as they are presenting project work. Please communicate if you need help in getting them there. Exhibition is more significant to us than report cards. Thank you for the support.

Tax Reform Bill-
The proposed tax bill may impact charter schools, such as IA, that are organized as nonprofit 501c3 organizations. Here is some information that you can consider when communicating with your elected representatives about your needs.

DONATIONS:
Performing Arts is in need of paint donations for the set being built for upcoming performance.  We will accept new or used latex paint. We can always use black and white but any color is welcome, as are brushes, rollers and other painting supplies.
