Weekly Info 12/4-12/10

CELL PHONE USE
Please have a conversation with your child(ren) about the contact they have with you during the school day via their cell phones and respect school policy as well as teach them restraint when it comes to their phones.

  • Receiving texts from parents during school hours is as disruptive as receiving texts from friends during school hours. Please refrain from texting your child during school hours.
  • If your child is sick, upset or worried and contacts you during the school day, please ask them to speak to their teacher or go to the Solution Center. They can call you from the office or we will.
  • If your child wants to be picked up during the school day, please contact the front office so that we can handle the situation appropriately

OUTPOST WINTER CAMP
Outpost  (the organization that runs our after school camp), is having two winter camps during break. The dates are 12/19 through 12/23 and 12/27 through 12/30. These camps are field trip based and can be a lot of fun. The website is outpostsummercamps.com/winter-camp

CARPOOLS NEEDED
One of the many great aspects of our IA community is how we take care of each other. This year several people have found carpools with other families. It is helpful for the environment and can often connect students who otherwise might not get to know each other. There is a current need for two carpools:

  • Mira Mesa: 8th grade student needs a ride home a few days a week. Cross streets are Capricorn and Ganesta, near Ericson Elementary. Pleasecontact Denise at buschfam4@sbcglobal.net  or text at 619-991-1387
  • UTC: 6th grade student looking for a carpool. Please contact MaxineSclar at 858-603-2555 or maxines65@com
